HR Business Partner

About the role

Leed, a privately‑owned Australian civil contractor, is looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join its growing HR team. The role will act as a true business partner, supporting leaders across multiple sites and helping to embed HR processes as the company expands.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with leaders to deliver HR support across the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews and development.
• Assist site supervisors and project managers with workplace issues, conflict resolution and fostering a positive culture on construction sites and depots.
• Configure, optimise and maintain the new HRIS platform (Employment Hero) and embed day‑to‑day HR operations into the system.
• Support organisational change initiatives, coach leaders through transformation and drive people‑focused projects.
• Coordinate performance management for office and field employees, ensuring alignment with enterprise agreements, awards and the Fair Work Act.
• Collaborate with payroll, safety, finance and operations teams to achieve effective people outcomes.
• Undertake ad‑hoc projects as directed by the HR Manager or GM Corporate Services.

Required profile

• Generalist HR professional with experience in operational, blue‑collar environments such as construction or civil contracting.
• Proven ability to build trust with senior leaders and site‑based teams.
• Strong project‑management skills and a track record of delivering HR initiatives.
• Interest in improving HR systems, processes and manager capability.
