HPB and General Surgeon

About the role

Peninsula Health (Bayside Health) is recruiting an HPB and General Surgeon for its General Surgery Unit 1 (GS1) and the Acute General Surgery Unit (AGSU). The position is part-time, at 19 hours per week (0.5 FTE), and is based in Frankston. GS1 provides specialist upper gastrointestinal surgical services, comprising four oesophagogastric surgeons and three hepatopancreatobiliary surgeons.

Key responsibilities

• Attend regular operating theatre sessions, outpatient clinics and receive dedicated clinical support time.
• Take part in departmental morbidity and mortality meetings, unit meetings, ward rounds and multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.

Required profile

• MBBS degree (or equivalent).
• FRACS (or equivalent) and current CPD certification.
• Post-fellowship HepatoPancreatoBiliary Surgery training (AANZHPBA fellowship or equivalent).
• Eligible for specialist registration with AHPRA as a medical practitioner.
• Sound clinical knowledge, skills and experience in contemporary, evidence-based practice.
• Commitment to customer service, demonstrated initiative and self-direction.
