Housekeeper / Cleaner

About the role

Oaks Port Douglas is expanding its housekeeping department and is hiring several casual cleaners. The role involves keeping guest rooms clean and tidy so guests have an exceptional experience, working in a team with rotating shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain high standards by thoroughly cleaning guest rooms, making beds precisely, vacuuming floors and cleaning bathrooms.
• Complete cleaning tasks efficiently within the hours allocated by the company.
• Work with team members to meet daily cleaning targets and operational goals.
• Follow safety protocols and environmental standards.
• Use specialised cleaning equipment and products safely and effectively, with training and tools provided.
• Build professional relationships with team members, guests and contractors.

Required profile

• Prior experience in housekeeping or cleaning roles is highly regarded.
• Strong attention to detail and good physical fitness and stamina, able to stand, bend and lift for long periods.
• Professional communication skills and good time management.
• Positive, proactive attitude and availability for flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
• Working rights in Australia or New Zealand only.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of safe handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment (training provided).
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work to cleaning targets.
