Hospital Pharmacist – Aseptic & Production Services

About the role

Canberra Health Services is seeking an experienced hospital pharmacist to join the Aseptic and Production Services team at The Canberra Hospital. The role focuses on safe, efficient, and compliant manufacture of medicines, including cytotoxic compounding, parenteral nutrition, and clinical‑trial manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense sterile and non‑sterile medicines, including cytotoxic agents and parenteral nutrition formulations.
• Manufacture clinical‑trial medicines and support oncology, ICU, and nutrition teams.
• Maintain Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards and robust governance frameworks.
• Participate in audits, accreditation activities, and continuous‑improvement projects.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and junior pharmacists, coordinating production workflow.
• Work on‑site rosters covering weekends, public holidays, after‑hours and on‑call duties.

Required profile

• Registered pharmacist with hospital experience.
• Interest and experience in aseptic compounding and medication safety.
• Ability to work in a high‑performing, quality‑focused environment.
• Willingness to engage in leadership and mentorship of junior staff.
