Hospital Director / Administrator (Veterinary Emergency)

About the role

Animal Emergency Australia (AEA) is seeking a Hospital Director/Administrator to lead its AES Hobart facility, Tasmania’s only 24/7 emergency and critical care veterinary hospital. You will be responsible for strategy, people, operations and financial performance, shaping the future of emergency veterinary care in the region.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute hospital strategy to ensure sustainable performance.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing multidisciplinary team of over 70 veterinary professionals and support staff.
• Foster a positive, psychologically safe, values‑led culture aligned with AEA’s core values.
• Drive financial results with full P&L accountability.
• Collaborate with clinical leaders to maintain outstanding patient care.
• Make decisions that positively influence patient outcomes, team wellbeing and hospital sustainability.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in a veterinary or healthcare hospital setting.
• Strong strategic, operational and commercial acumen.
• Ability to inspire and engage multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to delivering high‑quality emergency and critical care services.
