Hospital Cleaner

About the role

HammondCare, a NSW Health-affiliated organisation, is hiring a Cleaner for its Mission and Mission in Action hospital in Wahroonga. The Cleaner keeps the hospital clean and tidy so that patients, visitors and staff stay safe, and NSW Health transferrable entitlements are recognised.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver efficient and effective cleaning across all areas of the hospital to provide a clean environment and minimise healthcare-associated infections.
• Support patient-centred care by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
• Follow directions and complete tasks, and work autonomously while liaising with staff, volunteers, patients and visitors.

Required profile

• Experience as a cleaner in a health or aged care environment (desirable).
• Able to follow directions and complete tasks.
• Written and spoken English, including reading chemical labels and writing simple daily reports or Riskman entries.
• Multicultural sensitivity or experience in a multicultural setting (desirable).
