Home Care Employee - Nowra

About the role

IRT is looking for kind-hearted and empathetic home care employees in the Nowra area to support its home care customers with personalised care that promotes their well-being, independence and engagement in activities suited to their health, happiness and interests. The role is Monday to Friday, with hours varying between 7am and 5pm. IRT offers permanent part-time positions for entry-level (Grade 1) and experienced (Grade 2, 3 and 4B) home care employees.

Key responsibilities

• Domestic assistance such as cleaning, tidying and organising
• Personal care, including showering
• Cooking and food preparation
• Transporting customers to appointments and social engagements
• Providing companionship
• Helping customers continue to live well in their own home

Required profile

• At least 500 hours of professional home care and/or aged care experience (Certificate III not required but preferred)
• Full driver's licence and a fully insured car; international licence holders asked to apply for an Australian licence within 3 months
• Relevant Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent is a nice to have
• Current First Aid certificate and CPR, or willingness to obtain them
• Available to work weekdays

Required skills

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; a second language is a bonus
• Resilience and ability to work independently
• Empathy and a passion for supporting older Australians
