Hire Controller (Plant Hire)

About the role

Select Plant Australia, a specialist plant hire business owned by Laing O'Rourke, is looking for an experienced Hire Controller to join its team in Seven Hills, NSW. The role manages the end-to-end process for all hire contracts, turning customer requirements into opportunities in a timely way so that customers get a seamless experience. It is a permanent position.

Key responsibilities

• Address customer queries quickly and effectively, and build lasting relationships
• Fulfil requests for the hire of construction plant, equipment, vehicles, site accommodation and tools
• Drive customer focus across the business and maximise the use of Select's own plant and equipment
• Use existing customer relationships to find growth opportunities
• Reconcile project charges before the charge run so customer invoices are current and accurate
• Review queried invoices with suppliers for payment or dispute escalation
• Issue credits to customers for invoicing errors in line with delegation of authority
• Create variations to supplier orders for extra items, damages and other sundry charges

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in a related role such as plant hire, dispatch, commercial, construction, logistics or asset management
• Good working knowledge of the construction and plant hire industries

Required skills

• Excellent alpha/numerical data entry
• Intermediate Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook
