Healthcare Compliance Officer – Australia & New Zealand

About the role

The Healthcare Compliance Officer (HCCO) for Australia and New Zealand will lead strategic and operational compliance for DePuy Synthes’ Orthopaedics business. Reporting to senior leadership, the role ensures ethical conduct, risk management and adherence to healthcare laws across the ANZ markets.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Healthcare Compliance Officer for Australia and New Zealand.
• Develop and execute compliance strategies aligned with global and APAC priorities.
• Identify, assess and manage compliance risks related to commercial, promotional and professional education activities.
• Provide proactive guidance to business leaders on compliance requirements and ethical decision‑making.
• Embed effective compliance controls into business processes and market activities.
• Oversee training, monitoring, risk assessments and issue management programs.
• Partner with Legal to support investigations, audits and regulator interactions.
• Monitor regulatory developments and industry trends across ANZ.
• Prepare and present risk assessments and recommendations to senior leadership.

Required profile

• 8–10 years progressive experience in healthcare compliance, legal, risk management or audit.
• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, Compliance, Finance, Healthcare Administration or related field; advanced degree or professional certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare compliance laws and regulations in Australia and New Zealand.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams or complex compliance programs.
• Proven ability to partner with senior business leaders and cross‑functional stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with influence without authority.
