Head of Technology

About the role

A recruiter has been engaged to find a Head of Technology for a successful Australian business that is a pioneer in its industry and operates across multiple international markets. The role takes ownership of the IT strategy and technology function across the group, locally and internationally, working closely with the senior leadership team and leading a significant uplift of the technology environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own and deliver the group IT strategy and technology roadmap, aligned with business objectives.
• Lead, develop and mentor an established IT team of 10.
• Drive modernisation and uplift of the technology stack across Australian and international operations.
• Partner with business leaders to find ways technology improves efficiency, scalability and performance.
• Provide technical leadership across IT infrastructure, networks, applications and cloud environments.
• Ensure technology platforms and systems are standardised, secure and scalable across the group.
• Oversee technology projects and transformation initiatives within agreed timeframes and budgets.
• Lead cyber security, governance and risk management initiatives.
• Explore emerging technologies such as AI and automation.

Required profile

• Experience leading and developing IT teams in a medium to large business.
• Strong technical foundation across infrastructure, applications and IT operations.
• Experience supporting a user community of 200+ employees, ideally across multiple locations or international operations.
• Track record of delivering technology improvements, infrastructure upgrades or transformation initiatives.
• Experience contributing to IT strategy and technology roadmaps.
• Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and explain technical concepts in commercial terms.
• Relevant IT qualifications; postgraduate business qualifications viewed favourably.
