Head of Talent Acquisition

About the role

First Focus, an Australian managed service provider operating in Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines, is looking for a Head of Talent Acquisition to take ownership of recruitment across the company. Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, the role covers the end-to-end TA function, from strategy and processes to hiring and employer branding, while staying hands-on on senior, technical and difficult-to-fill roles. The workplace is hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement the Talent Acquisition strategy and own recruitment processes, technology, reporting, candidate experience and employer brand.
• Lead, coach and develop the technology-focused TA team across Australia, New Zealand and the Philippines.
• Partner with executives and hiring managers, and stay hands-on on senior technical, specialist, sales and hard-to-fill roles.
• Build sustainable talent pipelines and trial, adopt and use AI and automation where it helps.
• Create consistent practices across countries and improve the employer value proposition.
• Set meaningful TA metrics and challenge hiring processes that are unclear or overly complicated.
• Collaborate with the Talent Director and hiring managers in the US-based parent company.

Required profile

• Experienced TA leader able to move between strategy, leadership and execution.
• Significant experience leading an internal TA or recruitment function, ideally in technology.
• Experience developing a company-wide TA strategy and recruiting complex, specialist talent.
• Strong leadership of geographically dispersed teams and stakeholder management with senior executives.
• Commercial, data-driven approach and strong direct sourcing capability.
• Experience in technology, IT services, MSP or professional services, and across countries and cultures.
