Head of SEO and Discoverability

About the role

Early Settler is creating a new senior function to lead its search and online discoverability strategy across traditional SEO, AI‑powered search and emerging digital channels. Reporting to the Head of eCommerce, you will build an in‑house centre of excellence that reduces agency reliance and positions the brand at the forefront of next‑generation search.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the organisation’s search and discoverability strategy across SEO, AI search and emerging platforms.
• Lead visibility on Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and future AI‑powered search experiences.
• Drive technical SEO excellence, including site architecture, crawlability, Core Web Vitals, structured data and content optimisation.
• Build scalable content frameworks to improve discoverability on both traditional and AI‑driven search.
• Create a Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO) roadmap to prepare the business for future search.
• Improve local search performance for stores, Google Business Profiles and location‑based journeys.
• Partner with paid media teams to integrate organic and paid search strategies, reducing customer acquisition costs.
• Establish reporting frameworks that link discoverability initiatives to traffic, conversion and revenue outcomes.
• Grow an internal search capability while influencing cross‑functional stakeholders.
