Head of SEO & AI Visibility

About the role

A leading global organisation is looking for a Head of SEO & AI Visibility to build and scale a new global function that shapes how its brands are discovered across traditional search engines and emerging AI platforms. The role covers SEO, Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO), AI Optimisation (AIO) and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO), with an established foundation already delivering results.

Key responsibilities

• Own and deliver the global SEO and AI visibility strategy across multiple brands and markets
• Develop and scale search programs spanning organic search, AI-powered discovery, AEO and GEO
• Build the function's operating model, team structure, processes and long-term roadmap
• Lead technical SEO, including site architecture, structured data, schema, crawlability and Core Web Vitals
• Partner with content, digital, engineering and regional marketing teams to improve search performance
• Set up measurement frameworks for organic visibility, AI citations, share of voice, traffic, leads and conversions
• Report pipeline, revenue and ROI to senior leadership
• Manage external technology and agency partners while building internal search capability

Required profile

• 8-10+ years in SEO, organic search or digital growth, with strong technical expertise
• 4+ years leading search or organic growth teams
• Experience developing SEO strategies across complex, multi-brand or international environments
• Proven ability to build or scale search programs, ideally from the ground up
• Commercial mindset linking search performance to leads, pipeline and revenue
• Strong stakeholder management and confidence presenting to executive leadership

Required skills

• Technical SEO and hands-on work with engineering teams
• Understanding of AEO, GEO and AI-driven discovery
• SEO platforms and AI visibility and citation tracking tools
• B2B and B2C experience highly regarded

What we offer

• Salary of $150,000-$170,000 plus superannuation and a 10% performance bonus
