Head of Product Platforms - Technology

About the role

Zurich is looking for a Head of Product Platforms – Technology to own the technology foundations that enable its digital product teams. Reporting to the CIO, you will shape and deliver a platform‑as‑a‑product capability that drives speed, reliability and cost efficiency across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the technology foundations roadmap, investment priorities and capability backlog in partnership with practices, centres of excellence and product teams.
• Own end‑to‑end delivery of platform capabilities from design through release, adoption, ongoing performance and decommissioning of legacy tooling.
• Build a self‑service proposition for digital product teams, including reusable patterns, accelerators, golden paths and simplified onboarding.
• Lead the DevSecOps and quality automation agenda, embedding security, testing and compliance into the delivery pipeline.
• Partner with regional teams to set cloud foundation standards, landing zones, provisioning, resilience patterns and cost management on AWS.
• Establish observability, logging, alerting and service‑level measurement to enable rapid issue detection and resolution.
• Manage the platform’s commercial performance, budget, vendor relationships and OKRs.
• Develop and lead cross‑functional platform squads and align stakeholders across engineering, architecture, security and risk.

Required profile

• Significant experience in product management or technical product ownership of technology platforms.
• Proven track record of owning a platform from strategy through delivery, adoption and ongoing performance.
• Broad knowledge of modern software delivery, DevSecOps, SRE, quality automation and observability.
• Strong AWS cloud expertise and ability to influence cloud‑foundation decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence across product, engineering, security and risk teams.
• Commercial acumen to balance investment, delivery priorities, risk and long‑term value.
