About the role

The Head of Operations & Delivery leads Qantas Freight’s end‑to‑end performance, overseeing safety, service delivery and full P&L responsibility across terminals and trucking. Reporting to the Executive Manager Freight, this senior leader drives transformation, digital innovation and operational excellence in a highly regulated environment.

Key responsibilities

• Own safety, reliability and on‑time performance of the freight network.
• Manage the complete P&L for terminals and trucking operations.
• Lead large‑scale transformation of operating models, digital platforms and technology to improve productivity and growth.
• Shape enterprise strategy and influence senior stakeholders across the Qantas Group and external partners.
• Build and develop a high‑performing, unionised workforce, fostering accountability and engagement.

Required profile

• 15+ years of executive leadership experience in large, complex industrial organisations.
• Proven track record of leading large‑scale operational, digital or technology transformations.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing P&L and investment decisions.
• Credible influence with C‑suite stakeholders both internally and externally.
• Experience managing diverse, unionised workforces in high‑pressure settings.
