Head of Information Security

About the role

Stake is looking for a Head of Information Security to join its Technology team in Sydney. Reporting to the CTO/COO, you will own both Information Security and IT functions, shaping strategy, systems and culture to protect customers, employees and the platform as the business scales.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute a security and IT strategy that scales with Stake’s growth.
• Build and lead high‑performing Information Security and IT teams.
• Embed security controls throughout the product and engineering lifecycle while enabling rapid delivery.
• Deliver a reliable internal technology experience that supports all business units.
• Strengthen incident response, business continuity and operational resilience capabilities.
• Partner with Engineering, Product, Risk, Compliance and Operations to make balanced security decisions.
• Evolve governance, assurance and control frameworks to meet regulatory obligations.
• Promote a company‑wide culture of security ownership and operational excellence.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in Information Security and IT management.
• Strong strategic thinking with the ability to align security with business objectives.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across product, engineering, risk and compliance teams.
• Track record of building and scaling security teams in fast‑growing technology environments.
