Head of Finance – Direct Property

About the role

We are seeking an experienced finance executive to lead the finance function for a diversified Australian property platform. Reporting to the Group CFO, you will manage a high‑performing team and provide commercial and strategic financial leadership across listed REITs, unlisted funds and a management company.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a finance team of eight, fostering a collaborative culture.
• Oversee finance, accounting and reporting for three listed REITs, two unlisted funds and the Australian Management Company.
• Ensure timely month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end financial reporting and statutory compliance.
• Deliver management reporting, financial analysis and performance insights for strategic decisions.
• Partner with senior executives, investment teams and offshore stakeholders to provide commercial financial support.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting and long‑term financial planning processes.
• Support acquisitions, divestments, capital transactions and strategic initiatives.
• Manage banking relationships, debt facilities and treasury oversight.
• Oversee tax compliance, planning and coordination with external advisers.
• Maintain governance, internal controls and risk management frameworks.
• Lead finance transformation initiatives using technology, automation and AI.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualified with a degree in Accounting, Commerce or Finance.
• 10+ years of senior finance leadership experience, preferably within institutional property, real‑estate funds or listed investment vehicles.
• Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder management skills.
• Proven ability to lead high‑performing teams in complex investment environments.
