Group Experience Director – SEO & GEO

About the role

The Group Experience Director (SEO/GEO) is a senior leadership position within Mindshare’s SEO practice, overseeing client delivery and specialist team performance across Melbourne and Sydney. Reporting to the Head of SEO, the role is pivotal in positioning Mindshare as the centre of excellence for SEO services across GroupM Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a mid‑senior team of Directors and Associate Directors, managing performance, career development and day‑to‑day operations.
• Manage and grow strategic client relationships across GroupM agencies, acting as senior escalation point and strategic counsel.
• Oversee commercial performance, including revenue tracking, forecasting, reconciliation and scope renewals.
• Shape and evolve SEO product solutions in collaboration with the Head of SEO to drive service maturity and commercial growth.
• Connect with agency partnership teams, performance leads and third‑party platform partners to ensure alignment and maximise channel utilisation.
• Champion delivery standards and continuous improvement by establishing processes, documentation and training frameworks.

Required profile

• Proven track record leading and developing specialist teams in a media, digital or SEO environment.
• Strong commercial acumen with hands‑on experience managing client scopes, revenue forecasting and profitability.
• Deep understanding of SEO channels and services, able to link SEO strategy to broader media planning.
• Demonstrated experience cultivating senior client relationships and managing performance against KPIs.
• Ability to design and improve operational delivery standards, building scalable processes and quality benchmarks.
• Confident stakeholder management skills in complex, multi‑agency or multi‑brand environments.
• Track record of identifying and converting commercial growth opportunities within existing client portfolios.
