Graduate Software Engineer

About the role

Aussie Broadband Group, which owns Symbio, is looking for an enthusiastic, curious and driven Graduate Software Engineer to start on 9 February 2027. You will help design, build, maintain and support software solutions that deliver value to customers and the business, in a collaborative environment where you learn from experienced engineers. The role is based in Sydney with a hybrid work model combining office and remote work.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain and support software applications and platforms.
• Build new features and capabilities that meet customer and business requirements.
• Contribute to high-quality, resilient and scalable software solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with business and technology stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot, test and enhance existing applications.
• Develop your technical skills and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Follow a structured development pathway with mentoring, professional development and clear milestones.
• Take part in graduate program workshops, networking and development sessions with other graduates.

Required profile

• Completed a relevant degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline within the last two years.
• Previous exposure to software engineering through internships, university projects or work experience is highly valued but not essential.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, a passion for technology and software development, and a commitment to continuous learning.

Required skills

• Exposure to Golang, Java or Python (Golang experience is highly regarded).
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles.
