Graduate Software Engineer

About the role

Symbio, part of the Aussie Broadband Group, is looking for an enthusiastic, curious and driven Graduate Software Engineer to join its team, starting 9 February 2027. The role is based in Sydney with a hybrid work model combining office and remote work. It suits someone graduating in 2026 or who has recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain and support software applications and platforms.
• Build new features and capabilities that meet customer and business requirements.
• Contribute to high-quality, scalable and resilient software solutions.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product and Operations teams to solve complex business challenges.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and work closely with business and technology stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot, test and continuously improve existing applications and services.
• Learn and apply engineering best practices, coding standards and modern development methodologies.
• Follow a structured development pathway with mentoring, professional development and clear milestones.
• Take part in graduate program workshops, networking and development sessions with other graduates.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline completed within the last two years.
• Previous exposure to software engineering through internships, university projects or work experience is highly valued but not essential.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Passion for technology and a commitment to ongoing learning.

Required skills

• Understanding of software development principles and object-oriented programming.
• Exposure to programming languages such as Golang, Java, Python, JavaScript or similar.
