Graduate Planner Estimator

About the role

Veolia Environmental Services is looking for a Graduate Planner Estimator to join its Operations team, reporting to the Workshop Coordinator. You will plan and estimate jobs within the business unit and provide internal planning support to improve service to clients. It suits a recent graduate wanting to build a career in a collaborative, industrial services environment.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure timely, quality, consistent and competitive estimates and pricing covering all key cost elements
• Analyse specifications, plans and technical data to determine time, cost and labour requirements
• Compile strip and assessment findings from the trade team to support accurate job estimates
• Procure materials to technical specifications and coordinate external service providers
• Take part in handing over work to other Business Units and liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
• Manage costs and resource use to achieve expected profit margins and report requested updates
• Help develop strategies to improve efficiency, reduce waste and errors, and maintain strong working relationships
• Report safety, quality, contract, financial and industrial relations issues to the Operations Manager and complete all processes to the company's management system requirements

Required profile

• Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to work independently and in a team
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
• Commitment to safety, environmental and quality compliance

Required skills

• High proficiency in computer systems and Microsoft Office Suite
