Graduate Mining Engineer - Murrin Murrin Operations

About the role

Murrin Murrin Operations, part of Glencore's Australian metals portfolio, is one of the world's largest nickel and cobalt mining and processing operations, combining open pit mining with a major processing facility. The graduate program starts in February 2027 and runs on a FIFO 8/6 roster on-site, giving graduates exposure to the full mining value chain.

Key responsibilities

• Work on the planning and execution of complex laterite mining operations that feed a large downstream processing plant
• Gain experience in short and long-term mine planning, drill and blast optimisation, production engineering and operational improvement
• Work alongside experienced technical services professionals focused on safe, efficient and reliable outcomes and continuous improvement

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) or similar; Civil Engineering also considered before commencement
• Commitment to a safe work environment and a strong safety mindset
• Proactive, open-minded and willing to learn in a dynamic operational environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders, written and verbal
• Willingness and ability to work in a remote FIFO environment

Required skills

• Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
• Ability to learn mine planning and scheduling software
