Community Relations Advisor

About the role

Murrin Murrin Operations, Australia's largest cobalt producer and a major producer of nickel, is looking for a Community Relations Advisor. Reporting directly to the Superintendent – Community & Environment, you will join a team that builds and maintains key community relationships at the Murrin Murrin site in Western Australia's northern Goldfields.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate partnerships and initiatives that develop the capacity of local communities
• Liaise with community groups, government departments and other stakeholders
• Facilitate heritage approvals
• Promote community and cultural awareness through advice to and communication with employees and contractors
• Complete environmental inspections and audits, conduct water monitoring and carry out other environment-related tasks as required
• Support pastoral operations as an accessible liaison point for pastoral staff

Required profile

• Tertiary qualification, preferably in communications, public relations or a related field
• WA 'C' class driver's licence
• Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, able to engage people at all levels

Required skills

• Good computer skills, including integrated management systems, word processing, presentations and spreadsheets
