Graduate Engineer - Urban Infrastructure

About the role

SMEC, a member of the Surbana Jurong Group, is looking for enthusiastic Graduate Civil Engineers to join its Urban Infrastructure team in Geelong. You will gain hands‑on experience on some of Australia’s most complex infrastructure projects while being supported by a global network of experts.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to major infrastructure and community‑focused projects.
• Assist in preparing proposals, technical reports and documentation.
• Collaborate with a diverse graduate community across ANZ.
• Participate in industry events, networking opportunities and mentorship programmes.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering (final year or graduated within the last 2 years) with a credit average.
• Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn and ability to manage time effectively.
• Solid understanding of analytical methods, engineering tools and principles.
