Generalist Teacher (K-12) – Remote Community School

About the role

The Remote Community School in Jigalong is seeking a passionate Generalist Teacher to deliver K‑12 education across all year levels. This 36‑month fixed‑term, full‑time position starts as soon as possible and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on Aboriginal students in a supportive, culturally rich environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess literacy and numeracy programs for students from Kindergarten to Year 12.
• Provide English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) support where needed.
• Maintain consistent classroom routines and uphold whole‑school expectations for behaviour and learning.
• Collaborate with Aboriginal and Islander Education Officers, Education Assistants and community members.
• Participate in school and community events to strengthen relationships with families and local service providers.

Required profile

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues.
• Commitment to improving literacy and numeracy outcomes for every child.
• Ability to work flexibly in an isolated, remote setting and adapt to diverse cultural contexts.
• Experience teaching across multiple year levels is highly valued.
