Generalist Teacher for Remote Aboriginal Schools (WA)

About the role

The Ngaanyatjarra Lands School (NLS) is seeking dedicated teachers for early childhood, primary and secondary levels across its seven remote campuses in the Western Desert of Western Australia. Positions are full‑time and may be permanent or fixed‑term, starting anytime between 2026 and Term 1 2027.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver curriculum-aligned instruction that reflects Aboriginal perspectives and aspirations.
• Collaborate with cross‑cultural educators and campus teams to support student wellbeing.
• Participate in on‑site induction, ongoing professional development, and cultural awareness training.
• Adapt teaching strategies to remote, multi‑age classrooms and large geographic distances.

Required profile

• Qualified teacher with experience in early childhood, primary or secondary education.
• Demonstrated understanding of cross‑cultural education and Aboriginal Cultural Standards Framework.
• Resilient, personable, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to live and work in remote Aboriginal communities.
