General Manager Commercial

About the role

Red Energy is seeking a General Manager Commercial to lead commercial performance across its retail portfolio. Reporting to the Chief Customer Officer, you will drive revenue, margin, pricing execution and product profitability while influencing senior decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Lead pricing, forecasting and commercial budgeting teams, integrating wholesale market conditions into retail decisions.
• Evaluate new business propositions, products and growth opportunities, providing commercial challenge, resource prioritisation and modelling for major investments.
• Collaborate with the GM Strategy and Growth on commercial propositions and expansion into adjacent markets.
• Build, mentor and lead the Commercial team, strengthening commercial discipline across the enterprise.
• Establish robust commercial governance, manage business risks and deliver actionable reporting for Executive, Committee and Board‑level decisions.

Required profile

• Significant executive experience in commercial management, pricing, financial analysis, planning and business performance within a complex, regulated organisation.
• Proven track record of delivering commercial outcomes and solving complex problems, preferably in retail energy.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence cross‑functional decisions and present to Executive and Board levels.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Economics, Engineering or a related field.
