Full-Time Diversional Therapist - Hamilton, QLD

About the role

Estia Health is looking for a full-time Diversional Therapist for its Hamilton aged care home in Queensland. You will deliver engaging, fun and varied activities so residents have their best day every day, while also giving personal care and emotional support so they feel valued, safe and connected socially.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver lifestyle activities and assist residents one-on-one in social activities such as group lifestyle classes
• Provide social and emotional support and accompany residents on outings
• Support residents with cognitive impairment, including individual therapy activities and programs to prevent or manage conditions or behaviours
• Help residents pursue personal interests such as reading or playing games
• Plan, implement and maintain lifestyle programs in line with residents' needs and preferences
• Maintain documentation as requested and comply with Estia Health's quality management system

Required profile

• Available to work full time (76 hours per fortnight)
• Highly organised, able to manage multiple tasks at once
• Passion for building genuine relationships and seeing residents enjoy themselves
• Warm, welcoming approach and willingness to be part of a collaborative team
