Full-stack React/Node.js Developer

About the role

The Full‑stack React/Node.js Developer will own and maintain the Sydney Opera House’s Node.js services, primarily the Bridge middleware that links the Tessitura ticketing system with the public website and other internal services. Working under the Solutions Manager, you will collaborate with the web development team to ensure the site meets performance, uptime and accessibility standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and optimise Node.js based services, especially the Bridge middleware.
• Ensure efficient, secure and performant connections between the website and Tessitura.
• Monitor and improve website performance and uptime in line with service level targets.
• Communicate technical issues, enhancements and their business impact to relevant stakeholders.
• Guarantee that React components adhere to accessibility, usability and security best practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience with Node.js and React, JavaScript, REST APIs and JSON.
• Strong problem‑solving ability and understanding of architecture for high‑traffic sites.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
• Familiarity with Git, Jira and Agile development methodologies.
• Experience with build tools such as NPM scripts, Webpack or comparable solutions.
