Front Office Manager (Maternity Leave Cover)

About the role

The Brisbane Airport ibis Hotel is seeking a full-time Front Office Manager to cover maternity leave. Reporting directly to the Hotel Manager - Rooms Division, the role leads the front office team and maintains high standards of guest service and operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the hotel front office operation to build a reputation as a market leader
• Achieve guest satisfaction targets and team member satisfaction goals
• Develop and train team members with a strong focus on customer service
• Supervise guest arrivals and departures, ensuring room allocations and check-in/check-out follow set procedures
• Manage the front office system so that reports are accurate
• Run the night audit together with the Financial Controller
• Keep public areas clean and well presented through regular monitoring
• Provide visible management support on the front desk and in the lobby during key service times
• Liaise daily with the Reservations team on room allocation and yield
• Meet the front office monthly KPIs

Required profile

• Proven experience in similar positions in a hotel or resort environment
• Self-motivated, with a genuine passion for hospitality and customer service
• Experience in rostering and wage control
• Proven experience supervising and training staff
• Solid knowledge of Rooms Division areas: Front Office, Reservations, Housekeeping and Guest Services
• Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills
• Ability to act independently on safety, security and well-being matters when senior management is absent
• Ability to review daily arrivals for VIPs, returning guests and groups

Required skills

• Excellent computer system skills, including working knowledge of Opera or Opera Cloud
