Front of House Manager

About the role

IL Lago is a new Italian restaurant in Mango Hill, Queensland, opening early March, and is looking for a Front of House Manager to run the service side of the restaurant. The manager assists in hiring and training food and beverage service staff, creates shift schedules and keeps the front of house running smoothly, while being ultimately responsible for customer satisfaction and for clear communication between servers and the kitchen.

Key responsibilities

• Hire and train front of house staff
• Set and maintain shift schedules
• Oversee day-to-day front of house operations
• Keep customers satisfied by resolving issues quickly
• Facilitate fast, efficient communication between front and back of house

Required profile

• Several years of restaurant experience, preferably with some time in a supervisory role
• Available nights and weekends
• Food Safety Certificate and a Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate are required

Required skills

• Strong written and verbal communication
• Leadership and management skills
• Familiarity with Italian dishes is favourable
• Sound knowledge of Australian and imported wines
• Passion for cocktails
