Freelance Locum Medical Officer - Clinical Research, Melbourne

About the role

An industry-leading clinical research organisation is seeking freelance locum medical officers to support the delivery of clinical trials in Melbourne. There are four positions available with immediate start, offering exposure to early-phase clinical research and work alongside experienced Principal Investigators. The work is on-site and contract-based.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct participant medical assessments and physical examinations
• Obtain informed consent and determine study eligibility
• Monitor participant wellbeing and manage adverse events
• Support the safe delivery of clinical trials in line with GCP and study protocols
• Collaborate with research, pharmacy and operational teams to ensure high-quality study conduct

Required profile

• Full and unrestricted AHPRA registration
• Minimum PGY3
• Strong clinical assessment and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Desirable: clinical research or early-phase trial experience, current GCP certification, ALS certification, recent acute clinical experience and cannulation skills
