Forklift Operator / Yardperson

About the role

Keith Truss Plant is looking for a reliable and motivated Forklift Operator/Yardperson for a hands-on, varied role. The position mainly involves loading and unloading trucks, handling and organising finished timber frames and trusses, and keeping the yard, loading bays and surrounding work areas clean, safe and well maintained. It is a casual position with occasional weekend work.

Key responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to safely move, handle and organise finished timber frames, trusses and other materials.
• Load and unload trucks, ensuring finished products are handled safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised yard, including loading bays, storage areas and general site surrounds.
• Organise and prepare finished goods for dispatch so they are correctly positioned and ready for loading.
• Assist with the assembly and manufacture of timber frames and trusses when additional support is required in the production plant.
• Work closely with production and transport teams to support efficient daily operations and timely dispatch.
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.

Required profile

• A current forklift licence.
• Dogging licence (an advantage).
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or construction-related role, preferably in frame and truss production.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with good problem-solving and communication skills.
• Safety-focused mindset and willingness to comply with all WHS requirements.
