Forklift Operator / Yard Hand

About the role

InfraBuild Recycling, a 2026 AFR BOSS Best Places to Work Gold Winner and World Steel Association Sustainability Champion, is hiring a forklift operator / yard hand for its InfraBuild Recycling Botany site. The role is a permanent day-shift position (7:00am to 3:00pm) in the metal recycling yard, with on-the-job training and opportunities to be trained on other mobile plant such as excavators.

Key responsibilities

• Loading and unloading trucks
• Operating forklifts to load and unload trucks and shipping containers
• Performing manual handling tasks
• Maintaining cleanliness in the yard and operational areas
• Carrying out daily checks on mobile plant
• Following safety procedures at all times

Required profile

• Forklift licence and experience are essential
• Excavator experience is advantageous
• Experience in scrap recycling, construction or manufacturing is highly advantageous
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced yard environment
