Food and Beverage Attendant - Conference and Events

About the role

Sofitel Brisbane Central, a Sofitel property in the heart of Brisbane, is looking for motivated and energetic people to deliver exceptional food and beverage service at high-end conferences and exclusive events. The venue has event spaces for up to 1,100 delegates and offers a luxury accommodation experience.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding customer service to guests during conferences and events
• Set conference rooms promptly and accurately according to the function sheets, working with your team
• Meet client expectations with food and beverage service that reflects luxury and Sofitel brand standards
• Take responsibility for your assigned rooms or sections during service
• Deliver food and beverages on time and as specified, serving them professionally and in a timely manner
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all service areas
• Collaborate with kitchen staff and event coordinators to ensure smooth event execution
• Address guest inquiries and resolve issues promptly and courteously
• Follow food safety and responsible alcohol service guidelines
• Take part in pre-event briefings and post-event debriefings

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience in food and beverage service, preferably in a conference or events setting
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional manner
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and in a team
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 pounds
• Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification (required)
• Food Safety Certification (preferred); knowledge of hospitality practices is a plus
