Fleet Allocator - Rail Freight (Gladstone)

About the role

Toll Group's Global Logistics division is hiring a Fleet Allocator in Gladstone to manage the fleet of Toll Security Sensitive Transport drivers and sub-contractor drivers. The role ensures road and rail freight is delivered on time according to customer requirements, with a strong focus on safety and on transporting primarily dangerous goods. It follows an 8 days on, 6 days off roster.

Key responsibilities

• Schedule and control the arrival, departure, loading and unloading of all rail-related fleet.
• Manage transport requests day to day and support deliveries and pickups in line with the operational strategy and contractual agreements.
• Control the fleet to maximise safety, efficiency and availability while meeting schedule demands and regulatory requirements.
• Determine trip feasibility based on fleet, schedule, maintenance, driver availability and operational limitations.
• Maintain good customer relations, presenting drivers and equipment professionally and keeping customers informed of freight movements and expected delivery times.
• Assess customer needs and weigh alternative approaches, putting the customer first.

Required profile

• Customer service orientation and a detailed understanding of what adds value to customers.
• Ability to use logic and experience to make timely, sound judgements.
• Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills.
• High attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a time-pressured environment.
• Must be entitled to work in Australia and willing to undergo pre-employment checks including a criminal history check and medical.
