Fitter (Glendenning, NSW)

About the role

Australian Reinforcing Company (ARC), a brand of InfraBuild, is recruiting a permanent fitter for its Glendenning site. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the fitter works both autonomously and with a supportive team, covering dayshift and afternoon shift operations. The role maintains the reliability of site equipment and processes, with day-shift hours Monday to Friday, 7:00am–3:00pm or 8:00am–4:00pm, with overtime opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance, repairs and breakdown response on production equipment
• Carry out scheduled preventative and corrective maintenance to minimise downtime
• Troubleshoot and fault find mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades and commissioning
• Maintain maintenance records, work orders and CMMS updates
• Contribute to continuous improvement and root cause analysis
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality and environmental standards
• Liaise with external contractors and OEM suppliers

Required profile

• Relevant mechanical or electrical trade qualification
• Exceptional fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and interpret hydraulic and mechanical drawings
• Hands-on capability, including welding
• Familiarity with CMMS systems (preferred)
• Proactive approach to maintenance, with safety and customer needs as core values
• Confident communicator who can work autonomously and a self-starter focused on outcomes
• Heavy industrial experience
