Fire Technical Subject Matter Expert (FM Compliance)

About the role

Sodexo is hiring a Fire Technical Subject Matter Expert for its FM Compliance Team at the Balcatta Support Centre. The role covers specialist fire safety maintenance and provides expert technical advice and performance oversight across the portfolio. It involves on-site and desktop compliance inspections to ensure fire maintenance meets required standards and contractual KPIs, with travel to operating sites, including occasional overnight stays, for audits and inspections.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver specialist fire safety engineering services and give expert advice on fire safety upgrades, issues, standards, policies and compliance requirements in line with client standards and WA regulations.
• Ensure Sodexo's fire vendor contractors comply with CCMS requirements and follow work management strategies aligned with the planned program of works.
• Support FM Operations Teams by helping troubleshoot equipment and processes so assets return to service quickly, and recommend repair strategies and improvements.
• Promote efficient use of materials and resources, minimising waste of water, electricity, fuel and consumables.
• Provide guidance on regulations, policies, standards and procedures, and develop solutions to complex problems as operational needs evolve.
• Assist with system upgrades, modifications and the integration of new technologies.
• Monitor Maintenance and Inspection Plans, giving insights, trend analysis and recommendations to support operations and asset performance at the lowest practical cost.

Required profile

• Certificate 3 in Fire Protection Inspection and Testing (highly desirable).
• Graduate or Diploma in Fire Safety and Risk Engineering (highly desirable).
• National police clearance (essential).
• Current WA C class driver's licence (essential).
