Fire Safety Engineer

About the role

As a Fire Safety Engineer in Aurecon’s Transport team in Melbourne, you will deliver fire safety engineering solutions across transport and building projects, contributing to infrastructure that strengthens communities. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to integrate fire engineering into major projects and help shape the future direction of the fire engineering capability.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver fire safety engineering solutions for transport and building projects.
• Lead and contribute to fire engineering design, analysis and problem‑solving using CFD, risk assessment and pedestrian modelling.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate fire engineering into major infrastructure and building projects.
• Provide technical guidance, mentor junior engineers and grow team capability.
• Engage proactively with clients and project teams to support delivery and identify opportunities.

Required profile

• Registered or eligible for registration as a Fire Safety Engineer (NER and relevant state registration such as Victoria RBP).
• Approximately 5–7+ years of fire engineering experience with the ability to work autonomously.
• Experience in transport/infrastructure or building sectors, with willingness to work across both.
• Collaborative mindset and proactive, growth‑oriented approach.
