Financial Services Tax Manager

About the role

EY Financial Services is looking for a Manager to join its Financial Services Tax team in Brisbane. The role advises financial services clients on complex tax issues and works with colleagues in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. It is a hybrid position based in Meanjin, Brisbane, and may be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Australian income tax advisory and compliance services to clients in banking, wealth management, asset management (including superannuation funds) and insurance.
• Advise a portfolio of financial services clients on complex tax issues, covering compliance, provisions and tax advice.
• Build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor.
• Oversee and develop a team to ensure quality delivery of tax services, working with the global EY tax network.

Required profile

• Completed CA qualifications or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in Australian corporate income tax and/or fund tax, ideally gained in a top-tier or mid-tier accounting firm or in corporate business (superannuation, insurance, banking and wealth and asset management).
• Ability to manage multiple complex engagements and lead client meetings.
• Ability to turn complex technical information into clear recommendations for clients.

Required skills

• Auditing and taxation knowledge (CA qualification)
• Client-facing skills and influence
• Team leadership and mentoring of junior staff (ideally)
