Financial Controller – Senior Finance Leadership

About the role

The Financial Controller will join a fast‑growing Australian‑owned FMCG business, reporting directly to the CFO and becoming part of the senior finance leadership team. This position is pivotal for strengthening financial control, reporting, and governance as the company expands domestically and internationally.

Key responsibilities

• Lead month‑end and year‑end close processes, delivering accurate and timely financial statements.
• Own statutory reporting, compliance, taxation and external audit requirements.
• Strengthen financial controls, governance frameworks and balance‑sheet integrity.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, cash‑flow and working‑capital reporting.
• Drive improvements in finance systems, reporting, processes and automation.
• Partner with senior leaders to provide financial insight and decision support.
• Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, enhancing capability and performance.
• Support the CFO on strategic projects and business‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification with strong technical accounting foundations.
• Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Senior Finance Manager or comparable finance leadership role.
• Track record of strengthening financial controls and improving finance processes, systems and reporting.
• Demonstrated people‑leadership ability, developing high‑performing finance teams.
• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, retail or franchising is highly desirable.
