Financial Controller

About the role

The Financial Controller will lead accounting and financial activities for MCC Adelaide and MCC Griffith, providing insight and strategic guidance to drive profitability and operational efficiency across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial reports, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow and internal reports within tight deadlines.
• Oversee accruals, journal entries, fixed‑asset registers, depreciation schedules and US GAAP compliance.
• Liaise with external auditors, banks and tax specialists; manage statutory BAS, FBT, PAYG and payroll reporting.
• Mentor and train local finance team members and ensure adherence to accounting standards and internal controls.
• Analyse financial data, produce variance explanations, KPI dashboards and provide recommendations for cost reduction and process improvement.
• Collaborate with department heads on budgeting, forecasting, long‑term planning and scenario modelling.
• Act as a strategic business partner, communicating financial insights to non‑financial stakeholders and supporting cross‑functional initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field; professional qualification such as CPA, CMA or CFA is mandatory.
• Proven experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting, preferably in manufacturing or labeling.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.

Required skills

• Financial modelling and data analysis tools.
• In‑depth knowledge of accounting principles, US GAAP and local tax regulations.
• Proficiency with financial reporting systems and Excel.
