Financial Controller

About the role

This newly created Financial Controller position is part of a privately owned business that is expanding rapidly across multiple sites in Brisbane. The role combines technical accounting responsibilities with a strong commercial focus, aiming to deliver world‑class reporting and become a trusted partner to the leadership team.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain ownership of the quality, accuracy and integrity of all financial numbers.
• Produce insightful management reports that support strategic decision‑making.
• Analyse margins, profitability, cash flow, capital investment and operational performance.
• Partner with operational leaders to identify performance improvement opportunities.
• Review month‑end reporting and oversee work completed by the outsourced finance provider.
• Identify and implement enhancements to reporting, systems and financial processes.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis across the multi‑site business.

Required profile

• Up‑and‑coming Financial Controller or commercially minded Finance Manager.
• Strong commercial accounting experience with solid technical foundations.
• Comfortable reviewing month‑end processes and ensuring financial integrity.
• Exceptional communicator able to build relationships, ask probing questions and influence decisions.
