Financial Controller – Hospitality Group

About the role

We are seeking a commercially‑savvy Financial Controller to join the finance leadership team of Laundy Hotels, one of Australia’s largest family‑owned hospitality groups. The role will oversee financial control, reporting and performance across a multi‑entity portfolio of pubs, hotels and entertainment venues.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and year‑end financial reporting for a complex multi‑entity hospitality group.
• Own the month‑end close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and clear accountability.
• Oversee group consolidations, balance‑sheet integrity, reconciliations and inter‑company accounting.
• Partner with venue operators and senior leaders to analyse sales, labour, cost of goods, stock, gaming and cash performance.
• Identify margin leakage, control weaknesses and commercial opportunities across the portfolio.
• Develop and improve finance controls, policies and operating rhythms suitable for a high‑volume environment.
• Ensure statutory compliance, audit readiness and coordination of external audits and tax obligations.

Required profile

• Senior‑level finance professional with strong commercial judgement.
• Experience in fast‑moving hospitality or similar high‑volume environments.
• Hands‑on approach with ability to dive into detail and challenge assumptions.
• Proven track record of delivering accurate, timely financial information to support operational decisions.
