Financial Analyst – FP&A

About the role

We are looking for a motivated and analytical Financial Analyst to join the Adelaide Corporate Finance team at Santos. Reporting to the Financial Controller – FP&A, you will support group management reporting, forecasting and budgeting, providing insights that drive strategic decisions across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver monthly executive management reports and Asset Performance Reports with variance analysis and commentary.
• Support statutory reporting, including financial statements and Board paper preparation.
• Assist with monthly and quarterly close processes, management reporting and Quarterly Business Review submissions.
• Partner with Business Unit Finance teams to provide financial insights for decision‑making.
• Contribute to annual budgeting and periodic forecasts through financial modelling and trend analysis.
• Respond to ad‑hoc analysis requests from senior stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, data quality and automation.
• Ensure compliance with corporate governance, financial controls and safety requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in financial analysis, FP&A or management accounting within a large, complex organisation.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and financial modelling abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
