Financial Accountant

About the role

The Financial Accountant plays a central part in shaping the financial performance of the Tools and Hardware business. Working at the heart of the finance function, you will partner with stakeholders across the business to provide insights, strengthen financial controls and support better decision-making. The role sits in a collaborative, high-performing team and covers a wide range of finance activities, from month-end reporting and people cost analysis to continuous improvement and strategic projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and post month-end journals, accruals, prepayments and financial adjustments.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and ensure financial integrity across assigned areas.
• Lead people-cost reporting, analysis, forecasting and budgeting.
• Provide insights on cost performance, risks and opportunities to key stakeholders.
• Support internal and external audit requirements.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reporting quality.
• Contribute to finance transformation and system enhancement initiatives.
• Build partnerships across the business to support strategic decision-making.

Required profile

• CA or CPA qualification.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in financial accounting, external audit or a similar role.
• Experience in a large, complex or multi-entity environment.
• Proven ability to drive process improvement and enhance finance operations.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience preparing technical accounting papers or position memos.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of accounting standards, financial controls and reconciliations.
• ERP systems such as AX, TM1 or similar.
