Financial Accountant

About the role

Pacific Energy is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its Group Finance team in Perth. You will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, smooth month‑ends, and compliance across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily transactional accounting for Group entities, including reconciliations, BAS/GST returns, and ABS reporting.
• Execute month‑end processes such as accruals, credit‑card postings, pre‑payments, journal entries, and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain fixed‑asset registers and support tax compliance activities (income tax, TPAR, FBT, R&D).
• Assist with budgeting, re‑forecasting, and preparation of management and board reports.
• Prepare annual financial statements, coordinate audit requirements, and liaise with internal and external auditors.
• Develop and maintain finance policies, processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support shareholder reporting (QIC) and handle ad‑hoc finance tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Business or Commerce degree (or equivalent).
• Working towards or holding CA/CPA qualifications.
• At least 3 years of post‑graduate accounting experience.
• Strong collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to adapt to new software.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
