Financial Accountant – Hospitality Brand

About the role

Join a leading hospitality brand in the heart of Sydney’s CBD as a Financial Accountant. You will work within a motivated finance team, ensuring accurate accounting operations that directly support the hotel’s business success.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing budgeting and accounting policies.
• Prepare financial statements for management, owners, and statutory bodies.
• Conduct financial investigations, audits, and provide advice on sales, fraud, insolvency and taxation matters.
• Analyse operating costs, income and expenditure.
• Ensure financial reports comply with statutory requirements and provide assurance on data accuracy.
• Offer financial and taxation advice on business structures and operations.
• Prepare corporate tax returns.
• Implement and maintain internal accounting systems and recommend upgrades.
• Maintain internal control systems and prepare cash‑flow forecasts for capital projects.

Required profile

• Australian qualified degree or master’s in professional accounting.
• Minimum 3 years Australian experience in a similar accounting role.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP or IFRS standards.
