Financial Accountant – Business Performance & Reporting

About the role

JTMEC is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join its high‑performing team in Sydney (or Orange) on a permanent full‑time basis. The role will support business performance through accurate financial reporting, commercial analysis and strong stakeholder engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and analyse monthly management reports, budgets, forecasts and cash‑flow projections.
• Partner with finance and operational leaders to improve financial performance, accountability and business outcomes.
• Provide financial analysis and insights on profitability, labour recovery, cost rates and P&L performance.
• Manage accounts receivable activities, including debtor reporting, collections oversight and cash‑flow management.
• Assist with taxation compliance such as BAS, payroll tax, FBT and other statutory requirements.
• Maintain balance‑sheet integrity through timely reconciliations, strong controls and governance processes.
• Support month‑end and year‑end reporting, audits and compliance activities.
• Identify opportunities to enhance financial systems, reporting capabilities and business processes.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
• Minimum two years’ experience in financial or management accounting.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective relationships at all business levels.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high‑quality outcomes within deadlines.
• Proactive approach to continuous improvement and willingness to embrace new challenges.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently when required.
