Financial Accountant – ALM Division

About the role

Join Australian Liquor Marketers (ALM), the liquor wholesale arm of Metcash, as a Financial Accountant. Based in Macquarie Park with a hybrid model (3 days onsite), you will ensure financial integrity and provide commercial insights across the NZ and national business.

Key responsibilities

• Perform accurate monthly accounting and analysis for New Zealand and national operations, including IBA.
• Execute balance‑sheet reconciliations, resolve discrepancies and drive corrective actions.
• Identify inefficiencies, lead process‑improvement initiatives and enhance accounting accuracy.
• Act as point of contact for half‑year and full‑year audit preparation.
• Prepare group reporting, impairment assessments and accounting papers.
• Complete financial data surveys for the NZ Entity Guide and coach offshore team members.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Degree with CPA or CA qualification.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and commercial awareness.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (preferred).
